This November, after years of activism, redistricting reform is finally in the hands of Virginia's voters. This reform could give citizens a seat at the table and clear out the smoky backroom.
Join us for a discussion and Q&A on this amendment and the state of the redistricting reform movement in general, with special guest Brian Cannon, executive director of FairMapsVA (formerly of OneVirginia2021).
We'll review:
- A timeline of events, including what happens if the amendment passes (or fails) in November
- An overview of the arguments for (and against) the amendment
- What redistricting could mean for a gerrymandered Lynchburg
- Simple actions you can take to raise awareness in our community
This virtual forum is free and open to the public, but registration in advance is required. Please share this event with others -- a lot is at stake and we need Lynchburg to be engaged on this important issue!
